A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

I am a chaplain for people with different abilities/special needs.

2. Why do you make art?

I want to interact with and express the beauty that I feel and see. As C.S. Lewis writes, we desire to “bathe” in beauty.

3. What inspires you?

I am inspired by other’s art, by what I see around me (people, places, animals, plants) and by what I read (such as theology.) In my artwork, I often portray an idea, emotion or story.

4. What/who are your influences?

My favorite artists are Marc Chagall (the mystery of the divine in the ordinary), Fra Angelico (elegant spirituality), Pierre Bonnard (color and whimsy and interaction) and van Gogh (movement and color and light.)

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

I would like to meet Marc Chagall, Fra Angelico, Pierre Bonnard, van Gogh and St. Teresa of Avila.
